Give Yourself Permission to Skip IT!

Recently, I realized that my life gets so hectic sometimes that I am on the verge of an anxiety attack...my remedy - I skip it!

Before the holidays I was scheduled for an appt with my allergist to do a "challenge", which is where you eat a food and they watch you to make sure you are ok...you may have an allergic reaction and they treat you or not.  The holidays were coming up...presents, mailing, Christmas cards, decorating etc...and everytime I would think about the appt...I would almost hyperventilate...  I gave myself permission to skip it!!! 

No one wants to be the person who never does what they say they will do...so don't do it all the time and I don't recommend doing this if someone is counting on you or at the last minute...but once in a while, if you can give plenty of notice and you are not responsible for any part of the event...then skip it!!! 

I rescheduled it for a month later and it went very smoothly.  I am not allergic to the food and I didn't have any anxiety in Jan over it all...so I am a fan of skipping it!
